Unusual quality pair of antique Victorian ‘Royal’ Staffordshire figures, having a quality pair of figures of royal children standing next to sheep, modelled as royal portraits of the Prince of Wales (Edward Albert 1841–1910) shown in Scottish dress leaning against a ram and the Princess Royal (Victoria Adelaide Mary Louise 1840–1901) leaning against a ewe, hand painted in stunning blue, red, green and brown colours, granulated clay applied to the bodies of both sheep, polychrome enamel painted with gilded details on white oval gilt lined bases.
