A very fine quality early Victorian bullet shaped salt glazed teapot with pewter mounted cover by James Dudson and dating from around 1850. This exceptional example is crisply molded the rounded body on a narrow round foot decorated with a raised repetitive pattern on a textured ground below a scroll border with a scroll loop handle and raised pouring spout both with molded leaf style patterning. The teapot is mounted with a pewter hinged cover with a raised thumb piece. The base has a molded makers mark and the teapot is finished in a clear salt glaze.
In excellent condition with some natural firing faults where the spout it joins the body.
