A fine antique Doulton & Watts (pre Doulton Lambeth) salt glazed stoneware Nelson jug dating from around 1840. The jug portrays Nelson in military uniform and wearing a medal hung on a ribbon around his neck. He wears a hat the front of which forms a pouring spout. The portrayal is crisply and well modelled and the jog has a platted handle attached to the reverse. The jug is impressed DOULTON & WATTS LAMBETH LONDON to the base.
In good condition, some original firing cracks around the handle terminals.
