A scarce antique early stoneware salt glazed cream jug modelled as a bust of Napoleon by Stephen Green, Lambeth and dating from around 1840. This delightful small sized jug is modelled with the head of Napoleon, his collar forming the lower rim and wearing a large cocked hat pinched to the front to form the pouring spout. The jug is well formed with good facial detail and has a clear salt glazed finish. The jug has an ornate loop handle surmounted with an eagle head. The jug has an overglazed makers mark to the base.
