A unique and exquisite pair of ca. 1800 Italian carved giltwood girandole wall sconce mirrors. Each sconce has a pair of scrolled foliate arms with removeable brass candle cups, under a beveled central section having mirrored panels divided by foliate and beaded borders, surmounted by a shell-form crest and flanked by a cascading bellflower motif.
Condition: Wear commensurate with age. Desilvering of the glass mirrors, minor hairline cracks and loss to some gilding throughout. One sconce has repairs and a small loss. Waxy residue is present on the candelabra arms due to antique use.
