This antique campaign box is unsigned, but presumed to have originated from England and date to approximately 1820 and done in the period Victorian style. The lap desk is composed of walnut with brass mounts and fittings and has a drawer with dove tail construction that opens on the side, and helld in place with a pin styled peg on the inside. The inside writing area is covered in green leather and under each panel is a compartment for letters and documents. Hand printed in one of the compartments reads “Holiness to the Lord”.
