19th century exhibition quality credenza / cabinet in amboyna and ebonized with turned and fluted columns, bow end glass doors and the centre doors with pietra dura panels and lovely wedgewood panels in gilded brass frames as are the pietra dura panels, all the gilt brass mouldings and frames are of very good quality. Pietra dura is a term for using cut and highly polished coloured stones to create images, this technique first appeared in Rome in the 16th century and was also popular in Florence, circa 1860.
