18th Century Dutch End Table ~ Center Table is a testament to the artisans of a bygone era! Utilizing indigenous old-growth oak, the craftsmen created this beauty from solid planks and posts of the dense, hard wood. The planks that form the top are joined together and reinforced with runners underneath, which are then affixed with dowels to the framework. The framework consists of four solid plank apron sections connected to four sturdy turned posts, all joined with pegged mortise & tenon, and connected once again below just above the turned bun feet for added structural stability and longevity. Note the natural wear on the lower stretchers indicative of centuries of use. A convenient, full sized drawer appears on one side, accessed with a brass knob, to create a great storage space which adds utility to the design. The sheer natural beauty of the wood has been preserved by our expert in-house refurbishment staff, treated to a lovingly hand-rubbed wax finish which enhances the patina and timeless appeal.
