The cushioned seat turns clockwise and counter-clockwise to raise and lower its height.
The stool sits on a heavily carved and sturdy walnut tripod base.
The central column has a large bulbous center portion and acanthus leaf carvings throughout.
REALLY CUTE little Stool!
In ORIGINAL CONDITION!
The mechanism for raising the stool needs tightening, but not a major restoration/repair job.
The upholstery is probably the original and it is a light tan velvet, with brass buttons around the edge.
Was probably made for sitting at a piano, but it also works equally well at a Ladies Vanity Unit or poudreuse.
