These chairs are a bit of mystery, they were sold to me as being made by a very important cabinet maker but the dealer couldn’t find the documentation so had to sell them as unattributed. They are the finest quality, hand carved as you can see from the pictures of the base, they have a slight zodiac look and feel to them, the frames have the original ebonising, gold gilt accents, the bases are traditionally coil sprung with horse hair padding, they each weigh around twice that of a modern chair, they are substantial pieces
Each one has been fully restored, the chair frames have been secured as required, the upholstery is all new, its gold silk crushed velvet with silk thread, it was the best match for the frames I could find
Condition is perfect for the period, there is patination in the paint finish as you would expect, otherwise they are A1

Condition
Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition.
Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
